The Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School (BGVS) Corporate Partnership has facilitated work to boost sound quality at a major Birmingham venue.

Sutton Coldfield company X2 Furniture, which offers professional advice and product solutions in the commercial furniture and interiors sector, worked with Millennium Point to boost the venue's acoustics for visitors to its open plan conference area.

After carrying out various surveys of the building, lightweight ‘Fabricks’ Acoustic Screens were installed to absorb the sound entering the area from the main atrium, resulting in significant reductions in sound transference.

Linda Degg, Facilities Director at Millennium Point, said: “We were looking for expert guidance to reduce sound transference across the building and boost our offering.

“Having met X2 Furniture at previous Corporate Partnership networking events, we were aware of their expertise and experience in helping other clients resolve similar issues.

“Confident that they would provide suitable solutions based on our requirements, we asked them to come and assess the situation, before discussing the potential options.

“Since the new acoustic screens have been installed, we’ve noticed a significant improvement in terms of the sound transference, with our clients and team members often commenting on how much of a difference it has made.

“We’re extremely grateful for the work X2 Furniture have done, and we’d certainly recommend their services to other clients that are facing similar challenges.”

Both X2 Furniture and Millennium Point have been long standing supporters of the Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School Corporate Partnership, which works as a forum for businesses to meet and build working relationships.

Clive Poole, Director at X2 Furniture, said: “We’re delighted to have helped Millennium Point, using our expertise to deliver a suitable solution for the conference area of the building.

“Given the sleek and modern interior of the building, we knew that the project required a solution that would compliment its surroundings, so we presented options that met the acoustic and aesthetic requirements set out by the client.

“From start to finish, Millennium Point were very helpful and trusted us to offer a range of solutions that would help reduce sound transference.

“We’re delighted to hear that the Acoustic Screens have helped to improve the experience of Millennium Point clients and we look forward to helping them and other partners on other projects in the future.”
