Description of Tuesday 19th December 2017 Christmas Concert
We ask Kris Williams (OV2003) about the time capsule he buried near the school canteen in 2000.
The Development Office is looking for alumni volunteers to engage more OV from their particular year group, as well as providing feedback to the office from their classmates.
Sporting rivalries from your time at Vesey.
The 2018 OVA Sports Reunion will see a new format be introduced. The aim is to get smaller teams of alumni from particular year groups coming back to Vesey to compete against both current students, and other alumni. Exact details are still to be confirmed, but there will be competitions in 6-a-side cricket, 7-a-side hockey, netball, tennis and rowing. The aim is for all activities to finish around the same time (roughly 7pm), and then we hope to celebrate the achievements of the winners with a BBQ and some refreshments. With the move from Sunday to Saturday, hopefully alumni will be able to stay around Sutton late into the evening, and move on to some of Sutton's finest establishments to reminicise about your time at Vesey.
The 2018 Jobs and Careers Fair on Friday 9th February from 11am-2.30pm. We are looking to attract 50 of the UK’s top employers for our bright, well-rounded students to connect with. All speakers will have a tour of the school, and lunch with Headteacher Dominic Robson and other OV returning to the school. Our event is open to current students from Yrs11-13 (16-18ys old) and recent leavers (18-24yr olds) so there should be a cross-section of individuals looking for a variety of roles from summer internships and work placements to apprenticeships and graduate jobs. This will be compulsory event, which should see over 500 students in attendance. The career seminars will see panels of four to six people in similar industries talk about their experiences. There will also be a short period for students to ask questions, with the session lasting about one hour in total (11.15am-12.15pm and 12.15-1.15pm).
