Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School (BVGS) Corporate Partnership recently hosted its sixth annual Golf Day, inviting guests to enjoy a day of friendly competition and networking.

Hosted at Walmley Golf Club, this year’s event featured 72 golfers across 18 four balls, with over 100 guests also in attendance for the evening meal, helping to raise a staggering £3,500 for the school.

For the sixth consecutive year, X2 Furniture renewed its support as main sponsors of the event, which saw teams compete and participate in a range of smaller challenges, where guests could win prizes for ‘beating the pro’ or achieving the longest drive.

After finishing the round of golf, guests were treated to a hot meal and refreshments inside the clubhouse, giving them an opportunity to network, before the partner-sponsored raffle was drawn.

Corporate partners once again showed their support for the school by sponsoring individual holes and donating impressive prizes for the auction, including a selection of signed sports memorabilia.

Brian Davies, Development Director at BVGS, said: “The annual Golf Day gives partners and local businesses the opportunity to network, whilst enjoying the fantastic facilities Walmley Golf Club has to offer.

“With this being our sixth consecutive event, we were able to take inspiration from previous years, combining the successful elements with new and exciting features to deliver another memorable occasion for our members.

“Once again, we’d like to thank Walmley Golf Club for hosting the event, as well as our partners and guests for supporting the school and kindly offering sponsorships and donations to make it a success.

“We are looking forward to inviting guests to the seventh annual Golf Day on Friday 24th June 2022, which I’m confident will be as popular as previous events have proved.”

Clive Poole, Director at X2 Furniture, commented: “We are very pleased and proud to have been main sponsors for the event – a responsibility we have maintained since its inception five years ago.

“The events are always a huge success and they offer an important way for the school to raise valuable funds for Vesey sport – a cause that is close to our hearts.

“We would like to thank the partnership for hosting another brilliant event and we are looking forward to offering our support for next year’s Golf Day.”

Congratulations to the United Carpets team, which included Old Veseyans Naeem Arif and Mike Randall who retained the trophy with a fantastic score of 90-points!
