Swimming Gala success for White House.

Sport
This year the annual swimming gala took place on Wednesday 18th December. There was a great turn out, with students from all years involved.
Congratulations to White House who were crowned champions for the 3rd successive year, and a special mention to Purple House who beat Blue overall, despite having no sixth formers at all.

On the day there were six records broken, five by the victorious White House.

Charlie Wood beat the Intermediate Breaststroke record of 36.58 seconds set with a new time of 34.58 seconds. Pierce O’Dwyer beat the Intermediate Backstroke record of 34.62 seconds with a time of 32.54 seconds and Noah Southgate set a new Front Crawl record of 25.53 seconds. White House beat the Medley Relay record from 2011 with a new time, seven seconds faster than before, with a new time of 59.75 seconds. They also beat the Freestyle Relay record held by Red House from 2009 with a new time of exactly 53 seconds, and in the Senior Girls’ Medley Relay White House beat Blue’s record with a new time of 1.15.58 seconds.

Congratulations to all the students involved and thank you to the teachers and sixth formers who acted as timers and officials to make it, yet again, a successful event. We all look forward to seeing if White House can maintain their streak next year.
