Laura, Krishan and Yuan mobilised the school's communications systems and Form Teachers to spread the word that they were co-ordinating a Food Bank drive for the Sutton Baptist Church Food Bank.
They were motivated by a desire to give back following watching media coverage about the impact of COVID-19 on the most vulnerable, and having conversation amongst their peers about how they could help those in need.
During the two-week collection period they reguarly went into Form Rooms to collect donations and remind students of the collection.
Their efforts paid off and nearly 1,000 foof items were delivered to the Food Bank.
The three said:
“We believe that this is a huge success and without the generosity of the Vesey Community, we would not have been able to collect this many donations. We hope that we can carry on food donation appeals as a school and keep on supporting our community in this way.”
