Birmingham-based contemporary art gallery, Argentea Gallery, has already put its expertise into practice, hosting an art exhibition, which raised just under £2,000 in sales and commissions for Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School (BVGS).
The exhibition, which took place at the gallery in early September, showcased a variety of artwork created by staff and students at the school and sixth form.
With over 60 people in attendance, the evening proved to be a resounding success, once again demonstrating the power of partner involvement in supporting the school.
The Gallery, which specialises in contemporary photography and supports the careers of emerging contemporary artists, joined Bishop Vesey’s Corporate Partnership in February 2017, bringing the total number of partners to 30.
Argentea Gallery celebrates its first anniversary in October, having held nine exhibitions in the past 12 months, focussing primarily on the work of local artists.
Jennie Anderson, owner of Argentea Gallery, commented: “We’re delighted to be an official partner of Bishop Vesey’s Corporate Partnership, and I’m very much aware of the invaluable work it does to improve the school’s facilities and services.
“I first met development director, Brian, at a Chamber Speed Networking event in November 2016, and through conversation discovered he’d actually taught my son, Nat.
“Joining the partnership is a great way of giving back to the school, and it’s already proved to be very worthwhile from our point of view, hosting such a successful exhibition alongside Bishop Vesey’s.
“It feels great to be involved with a partnership where we as a business can be active and get involved in hosting events such as these, which benefit everyone involved.
“We’re very much looking forward to building more relationships with the other partners, and potentially collaborating on other projects in the future.”
Brian Davies, commented: “Argentea Gallery have been such a welcome addition to the partnership, already demonstrating their support with the exhibition, which generated important funds for the school.
“As a partnership, we always look to promote and help our partners in any way possible, and we’ve supported several of Jennie’s exhibitions in the past, inviting parents, alumni and staff to increase exposure for the gallery.
“It’s important for us that the businesses who join the partnership are active and showcase their expertise to help promote their own business, while supporting the school.
“We’ve already seen a lot of partner collaboration since the partnership first began, and I’m confident that the other partners will also benefit from working with Jennie and the Argentea Gallery team in the future.
