Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School (BVGS) Corporate Partnership has recruited the assistance of ex-King Edwards Aston pupil, Joe Williams, to help accommodate the arrival of several new partners.

The Corporate Partnership has enjoyed plenty of recent success, with the backing of several new local businesses, including Moor Hall Hotel and Spa, Rational FX and FOTAS.

Joe, who enjoyed a year-long work experience placement at Bishop Vesey’s in 2015, joins the growing team as an assistant to Development Director, Brian Davies, who has been running the initiative since 2017.

The BVGS Corporate Partnership was created as a way of supporting the school financially, helping to improve its facilities and services for the benefit of its pupils.

Joe Williams, Development Assistant, commented: “It’s a great honour to be involved with the Corporate Partnership, which does a fantastic job of improving the experiences of students at the school.

“Having worked at Bishop Vesey’s in the past, I’m very familiar with the school and the sixth form, so transitioning into fulltime employment, working behind the scenes and supporting the school is an exciting prospect.

“I’m very much aware of the important role the Corporate Partnership and initiatives like these play in the overall stability and success of the school, so it’s great to now be a part of that.

“I’ve joined at a very important time for the Partnership, with the arrival of some high-profile partners, so I’m sure there will be plenty of work to get stuck into over the coming months, and I’m looking forward to building some lasting relationships with the companies involved.

“A deciding factor in my decision to join the initiative was the opportunity to work alongside Brian, who has been instrumental in the success of the Partnership.

“His passion and enthusiasm matched my personal love for Bishop Vesey’s, and it’ll be great to collaborate on projects together moving forward.

Brian Davies, commented: “I was really impressed meeting Joe, and knew straight away that he’d be a natural fit for the Partnership, especially with his extensive knowledge of the school and sixth form.

“We are currently running an internship programme with the Bishop Vesey’s sixth form students, where we invite them to help out with Partnership activities and projects, allowing them to gain important work experience in an environment they are familiar with.

“It’s a really busy yet exciting time for the Partnership, as we have a lot of new partners throwing their support behind the initiative to add to the existing portfolio of businesses, so this latest recruitment combined with the regular intake of interns will help us to manage the work efficiently.

“While it was important to get someone in promptly to help with the extra work, it was also crucial for me to find the ideal candidate for the role, and someone who would bring energy to team.

“Joe definitely ticks all the boxes, and I’m certain that all our partners will enjoy working alongside him in the future.
