Each term over the past year has brought new challenges and new procedures which need to be followed to keep our school community safe, including: year group bubbles, staggered arrival and departure, mask wearing and promoting regular hand washing hygiene to name just a few. The latest of these measures was to operate a clinically safe and reliable Lateral Flow Testing Centre, to enable for our school community to have a safe return to school following the national lockdown.

Our lateral flow team consisted of 18 trained members of staff who have all pulled together to seamlessly conduct a complex testing and results processing system, which has all taken place alongside the successful phasing in of all year groups back into school. 2,269 tests were carried out over 14 days of testing.

This would not have been possible without Mr. Swindells, the School Finance and Business Manager. He led the team and, alongside with the Chair of Governors Jo Davis, facilitated appropriate training so that staff were prepared to be able to support students with administering their lateral flow tests.
