Robin Gillcrist 1939-2022

Members and Alumni will be saddened to learn of the death of Robin Gillcrist at the age of 82 on Monday 24th January in Ontario, Canada.

Robin was a student at Bishop Vesey's Grammar School from 1950-57 and played rugby in the 1st XV. He emigrated to Canada in 1967, initially to Toronto, and enjoyed a successful career in insurance.

Robin maintained contact with several Old Veseyans in Canada including Bill Harpur and Norm Heywood.

Robin was the son of the late Gilly and Connie Gillcrist of Sutton Coldfield and brother to sisters Kay and Stella, both resident in England. Robin leaves a loving wife Wendy and will be sadly missed by his extended family and many friends.

It is hoped to obtain further details for a comprehensive tribute in the next issue of The Veseyan.
