In a very tense and tight affair between two evenly matched teams, Vesey couldn't make their early possession and territory count on the scoreboard. It was Tommies who took the lead with a penalty midway through the first half, and with Vesey missing a penalty of their own just before half-time, Tommies went into the break 3-0 ahead.
Tommies started the second-half the brighter, doubling their lead with a second penalty. Vesey then started to exert some pressure of their own, with Dan Cross kicking a penalty to make the scores 6-3 with 15-mins remaining. The majority of the rest of the game was played out in Tommies half, with Vesey having a number of lineouts and attempts to get over the line. The boys came agonisingly close when Aidan Towse was denied a try in the penultimate play of the game when the Tommies defender managed to get his leg under the ball to prevent the try.
Good luck to Tommies who now have a home draw in the semi-finals against either Wirral GS or Seaford College.
