Due to very strong teams in Year 7-10, White House surged into an early lead. Gold House did begin to close the gap due to White Houses lack of Yr11 and Senior swimmers, meaning that they scored zero point in several events, but victory was completed when the Cannon was won by White in the last event.
For those less familiar with swimming gala's, the Cannon is an event where one representative from each year group, and a 6th form boy and girl combine in a team of seven. Each individual can swim any stroke, and the team can be arranged in any order to finish in the quickest time possible.
There were 8 new school records at todays event, which are as follows:-

Leo Karski 11G set two new records. Individual Medley (1.01.06) and Butterfly (26.60) previously held by B.Lynch (2012) & D.Rickards (2009).

Year 7 White House set records in both relays. Freestyle (1.03.19) and Medley (1.09.76) held by White (2015) and Blue (2011) respectively.

Leighton Palmer-Whyte 11B added the Yr11 Breaststroke record to Yr7-10 records he already holds! Time of 34.12 replaces S.Davis from 2014.

David Thomas of 10W sets new Backstroke record of 34.62, previously held by Harry Bailey (2013).

Rachel Wilson of White House broke her own girls Butterfly record with a new record of 14.46.

And finally, White House broke the Cannon record with a new time of 1.38.77.

Final placings were as follows: -

Overall Standings
House Points Place
White 160 1st
Gold 148 2nd
Blue 140 3rd
Red 123 4th

In the first time since the inception of Purple House in September 2015, and now with Year 7&8 forms Purple were able to compete against the other houses in the Juniors category. Purple finished in 2nd place, with White House winning by over 20 points.
