The Old Veseyan Golf Society has been invited to participate in the prestigious GRAFTON MORRISH GOLF ASSOCIATION 2019 competition.
Grafton MorrishGolf Association was formally The Public Schools Old Boys Golf Association.
The Grafton Morrish Golf Association amended its’ membership rules in 2017 to make those old boys golf societies eligible whose school headmaster is invited to attend the Headmasters Conference. Nominations for consideration by the Executive Committee for membership shall be in writing, duly proposed and seconded by not less than six other member societies in addition to the proposing society. The aforesaid Societies and Sections may have female members.
The competitions are amateur scratch foursomes competitions for three pairs of former pupils of the school. There is a qualifying round in May/June, on one of eight courses to reduce the number of entrants - usually 105 / 115 - to the 48 which will take part in the knock-out 'Finals' in September/October each year at the Hunstanton G.C. in Hunstanton and the Royal West Norfolk G.C. in Brancaster. Most societies field a team of six single figure handicap players for this scratch competition - some societies with six very low single figure handicaps !!
The West Midlands qualifying round is to be held at Olton Golf Club on Saturday 11th May 2019. The finals are scheduled for 4th -6th October 2019 with a practice day on 3rd October 2019.
