Corporate partners enjoyed afternoon golf and an evening of speed-networking, as Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School (BVGS) Corporate Partnership held its first networking event of 2017/18.

The session, which took place at Walmley Golf Club, attracted some 40 individuals to the day’s events, allowing partners the opportunity to meet one another and discuss their businesses in more detail.

With evening talks from Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce representative, Julia Gray, and Development Director, Brian Davies, the speed-networking event proved to be a success with an hour of introductions and discussions, followed by an evening meal.
The corporate partners took the opportunity to exchange business cards, and explore the possibility for future working collaborations in what was a relaxed and friendly environment, created by the Golf Club.

The event was the first of many future planned networking sessions, with BVGS Business Networking 2 scheduled to take place on Wednesday 22 November at the school.

The Corporate Partnership programme currently boasts 30 partners, and is designed to help improve facilities and services at Bishop Vesey’s school.

Brian Davies, commented: “I’m very pleased with the way our first networking session went, we had an excellent turnout, which allowed the partners to meet plenty of other companies throughout the day.

“The golf event went down really well with those that played, and it followed smoothly into the evening’s networking event which was made better thanks to the team at Walmley Golf Club.

“Now that the partnership has grown to 30 members, we are really keen to hold these networking days on a regular basis, so that there can be a constant dialogue between the partners to discuss and plan future working collaborations.

“We’ve got plenty planned for the upcoming networking sessions, with a variety of special guest speakers scheduled to come and talk to the partnership.

“What’s important for us is that we can facilitate these networking events in a relaxed environment, where people can come and enjoy themselves, socialise and build lasting relationships with other local businesses.

“There has already been plenty of partner collaboration since the initiative began, and I’m confident that these events will help promote more opportunities in the future.”
