It’s coming home’ World Cup fever strikes as corporate partner donates footballs to school

It seems World Cup fever has taken over the Corporate Partnership, as Ansons Solicitors have kindly donated a number of footballs to Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School (BVGS).

With the nation’s confidence building following a convincing 6-1 win over Panama, football is the word on everyone’s lips, as hopeful England fans wonder whether 2018 could mark the end of 52 years of hurt.

To celebrate the world’s most watched sporting tournament and boost belief that England can achieve the unimaginable, the firm has donated Ansons sponsored footballs to the school, allowing pupils to boost their World Cup spirits as we approach the knockout stages of the competition.

Slightly smaller and lighter than official match balls, the Ansons footballs are perfect for training sessions and PE classes, especially for the younger students at the school.

Longstanding supporters of the school, the firm which provides a complete range of legal services to businesses across the UK has been a part of the 35-strong Corporate Partnership since November 2017.

The initiative aims to support the school and its students, while offering a networking forum for its partners to meet and establish working relationships.

Adam Penn, Associate Director at Ansons, commented: “The World Cup is always an exciting period for football fans, as it brings friends and family together to watch the big match and enjoy the nice weather outside.

“World Cup fever can be infectious, and for young people watching the tournament it can inspire them to go outside and have a kick around after the matches have finished.

“The football is always a popular topic of conversation amongst school pupils and it’s important that these events are used to encourage children into taking up sport and enjoying important exercise with friends.

“Hopefully this extra equipment will help Bishop Vesey’s deliver important training sessions to students at the school, potentially inspiring the next generation of professional footballers!”

Brian Davies, Corporate Partnership Development Director, said: “We’re extremely thankful to Ansons Solicitors for donating the footballs, which will be used during school sports lessons and training sessions.

“With England enjoying a positive start to their World Cup campaign, now is a perfect time to encourage children to take up the sport or join a team and play competitively.

“This generous donation by one of our partners once again demonstrates the power of the initiative and how important it is to helping student development.”
